Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle Leads Evening Rosary in Memory of Pope Francis
On Thursday evening, 24 April, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle led the fourth evening Rosary in memory of Pope Francis at the Basilica of Saint Mary Major. The prayer took place once again at the Papal Basilica, where Pope Francis will be laid to rest following his funeral on Saturday, 26 April.
In his introductory remarks before leading the Rosary, Cardinal Tagle reflected on the words of the Risen Jesus in today’s Gospel, comforting his disciples and opening their hearts to the Scriptures to alleviate their fear of death. He emphasized that these words are meant to give hope and certainty to all believers, as the Lord came to give eternal life.
Cardinal Tagle concluded by urging the faithful to pray for Pope Francis, entrusting him to the loving hands of Mary Most Holy, Salus Populi Romani. He also invoked Mary as the “Gate of Heaven” and asked for her intercession.
Let us join Cardinal Tagle and the faithful in prayer for Pope Francis and seek the intercession of Mary during this time of mourning and remembrance.
