Funerali Papa Francesco: An Extraordinary Plan by Anas for National Road Traffic
Enhanced monitoring on the main roads connecting to the Capital

An extraordinary plan for national road traffic has been put in place for the funeral of Pope Francis, which will see the arrival of foreign delegations at Rome’s airports and the influx of faithful from all Italian regions into the Capital. Anas, a company of the Fs Italiane Group, has “particularly strengthened the presence of staff on the main roads connecting to Rome where high-intensity traffic is expected: the A90 motorway, the A91 “Rome-Fiumicino” motorway, and the SS7 “Appia”. Anas monitoring has also been reinforced on the consular roads, including the SS1 “Aurelia”, SS2 “Cassia”, SS3 “Flaminia” and SS4 “Salaria”.
“The traffic plan includes a targeted action of prevention and control of vehicle flows from all Italian regions: with 2,300 Anas resources in the field and in the control rooms, already planned for the Easter exodus and spring holidays – with the temporary removal of about 80% of the construction sites on the national network – with increased presence and shifts now reinforced”.
“Anas’s commitment is deployed in collaboration with the National Civil Protection which coordinates all activities and with Viabilità Italia. In the last few hours, numerous operational meetings have been held to address the most urgent issues related to traffic. These include the increase in vehicular traffic towards Rome, the management of parking for tourist buses, and the planning of activities for the arrival of foreign authorities at Rome’s airports with their transfers to the city center”.
“Anas has also increased real-time information services for travelers. For updates on traffic to and from Rome, users can call the Anas toll-free number 800.841.148 and select the dedicated option. Information requests have increased by 36% in the last few hours. Additional update channels are available, such as news broadcasts on Roman radio stations and news posted on the website and social media profiles of Anas”.
