Experience the spiritual journey of a lifetime at the Night Way of the Cross event organized by Radio Droga. This annual pilgrimage, now in its seventh year, brings together pilgrims from all walks of life to embark on a 12-kilometer night pilgrimage through 14 Stations of the Cross.
The event kicks off with a solemn Holy Mass at the Polish National Shrine on Kahlenberg, setting the tone for the journey ahead. Fr. Maciej Cepielik CM, the spiritual director of Radio Droga, emphasizes the importance of dedication and effort in this spiritual devotion during his homily. Each step taken is a response to the love and sacrifice of Jesus.
As the pilgrims traverse through Leopoldsberg Hill, Kahlenbergerdorf, and Nussdorf, they have the opportunity for personal reflection and confession along the way. Ewa shares, “I brought all my worries and burdens with me, and during this walk, I felt I wasn’t alone.”
This year’s pilgrimage holds special significance as it commemorates the 20th anniversary of the death of St John Paul II. The route connects two places associated with his visit to Vienna, St Joseph’s Church on Kahlenberg and the Papal Cross in the Danube Park.
The Papal Cross, standing tall at 40 meters and weighing 56 tons, remains a symbol of faith and prayer. Despite attempts to remove it, the cross still stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of devotion. The Night Way of the Cross concludes with a prayer at the Papal Cross, leaving pilgrims with a profound experience of Christ’s Passion.
Join us on this unforgettable journey of faith and reflection, where we come together to pray for peace, health, and the intentions of all. Radio Droga continues to inspire and unite people through initiatives like the Night Way of the Cross, bringing us closer to one another and, above all, to God.
