The Holy See Press Office announced in a statement that the pope had a private meeting with Their Majesties, King Charles and Queen Camilla.
During the meeting, the pope expressed his best wishes to the royal couple on the occasion of their anniversary.
The pope also wished King Charles a speedy recovery from his health concerns, referencing both Charles’ cancer diagnosis and the pope’s recent health issues.
According to Vatican News, the date of the meeting held special significance as it marked Charles and Camilla’s 20th wedding anniversary and the four-year anniversary of the death of King Philip of Edinburgh.
