Experience the spirit of compassion and faith as over 20,000 pilgrims gather in Rome on April 5 and 6 for the Jubilee of the Sick and the Healthcare World. Among them are volunteers from the renowned Lourdes, a city known for its healing waters, who are dedicated to serving the sick and disabled.

Embark on a pilgrimage like no other.
All year round, the Hospitalité Notre-Dame de Lourdes organization welcomes pilgrims to the sacred Marian shrine in southern France, with the help of volunteers from diverse backgrounds across 90 countries.
During the Jubilee in Rome, a group of 70 volunteers from Hospitalité is participating in this significant event.
Embracing the Mission
Daniel Pezet, President of Hospitalité, highlights the importance of their mission to welcome and care for sick pilgrims in Lourdes. The volunteers see themselves as extensions of Mary and Jesus, offering comfort, hope, and a glimpse of eternity to those in need.
Maider Urruty, a dedicated volunteer, describes the profound impact of their presence on pilgrims from all walks of life, including non-believers seeking hope.
Helena Foy, another devoted volunteer, emphasizes the importance of instilling hope in patients and guiding them towards a sense of normalcy amidst illness.
Renewing the Spirit of Service
Christiane Varachaud, a retired nurse and volunteer, shares her calling to serve the vulnerable, both in Lourdes and beyond. She believes in the timeless power of prayer and healing from Lourdes.
Accompanied by Father Michel Daubanes, rector of the sanctuary, the volunteers aim to strengthen their commitment to serving the sick and disabled, fostering faith, friendship, and solidarity.
