Updates on Pope Francis’ health condition continue to show positive signs as he receives ongoing medical care at the Vatican, according to the latest report from the Holy See Press Office released on Friday.
The Vatican confirms that the pope’s respiratory condition is improving, and his overall mood remains upbeat as he undergoes various treatments. Changes in the format of Sunday’s Angelus are anticipated, with further details to be announced on Saturday.
At 88 years old, the pontiff has shown progress in his respiratory function, mobility, and vocal strength. Recent blood tests have also shown a slight decrease in infection markers, indicating an overall improvement in his health.
While Pope Francis still requires supplemental oxygen, the amount needed has decreased slightly. He receives standard oxygen therapy during the day and high-flow oxygen through nasal cannulas at night as necessary.
