The Inspiring Missionary Work of Sr. Ivančica Fulir in Benin
Sr. Ivančica Fulir, a dedicated missionary serving in Benin, shares the importance of spreading the stories of Catholic missionaries around the globe. She believes that by shedding light on the good deeds done by missionaries, more people can be inspired to contribute positively to the world.
Born and raised in Croatia, Sr. Ivančica had a childhood dream of becoming a missionary in Africa. Despite initial doubts from her family about her health, she was reassured by a religious sister that God would protect her on her journey. This assurance fueled her determination to dedicate her life to missionary work.
After completing a degree in economics, Sr. Ivančica worked as a project manager and raised funds for an orphanage in Benin. This experience led her to volunteer in Benin for nine months, where she stayed with the Sisters of Mary of the Miraculous Medal. The experience was life-changing, and she eventually joined the Congregation and returned to Benin in 2020.
Serving 3,800 Children in Benin
Currently based in Porto Novo, Sr. Ivančica oversees a program that provides hot meals to 3,800 children in five elementary schools. She also helps in building medical clinics and supporting orphanages in the region. Despite the challenges, she finds strength in her deep connection with the people she serves.
