Exciting News: Blessed Mother Carmen Rendiles to be Canonized!

Pope Francis has authorized the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints to promulgate the decree regarding her miracle, paving the way for her official canonization.
This momentous announcement marks the approval of the canonization of the beloved Venezuelan nun, known for her exemplary life and founding of the Congregation of the Servants of Jesus of Venezuela. The verification of a second miracle through her intercession solidifies her path to sainthood.
The Bulletin of the Holy See Press Office has confirmed this news, with Mother Rosa María Ríos, the Superior General of the Congregation, making the official announcement.
The date for the celebration of her canonization will be revealed at the next consistory of cardinals. This historic event not only honors the life and virtues of Mother Carmen Rendiles but also recognizes the significant contributions of Venezuelan women to the Church and society.

About the Cause for Sainthood
The process for Mother Carmen Rendiles’ canonization began in 1995 and culminated in Pope Francis declaring her Venerable in 2013 for her heroic virtues. The diocesan investigation into the miracle attributed to her started in 2014 and led to her beatification in 2017.
On June 16, 2018, Mother Carmen was recognized as the third Venezuelan blessed, joining the ranks of other revered figures.
Life and Work of a Venezuelan Saint
Born in Caracas in 1903, Mother Carmen overcame physical challenges to lead a remarkable life. She joined the Servants of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in 1927 and dedicated herself to religious life, eventually becoming the first Superior General of the autonomous Institute she helped establish.
Her legacy of care, maternal tenderness, and unwavering faith in God continue to inspire many to seek holiness. Mother Carmen passed away in 1977, leaving behind a path to holiness for her followers and the Church.
Her remains rest in the Colegio Belén in Venezuela, a testament to her enduring impact on the country and the Church.
