Welcome to the SACRU Roundtable Discussion on ‘Vulnerability and Healthcare’
Are you interested in exploring the intersection of vulnerability and healthcare? Look no further! The Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities (SACRU) is hosting a roundtable discussion on this very topic in Rome on April 7.
SACRU, a global network of Catholic universities, has brought together doctoral students and faculty from seven institutions to collaborate on this interdisciplinary project. From vaccine trials in developing countries to ethical considerations in physician-assisted suicide, these researchers are delving deep into the complexities of vulnerability and healthcare.
Join us on Monday, April 7, from 4:30 to 7 p.m at the Rome campus of the Australian Catholic University for an engaging discussion led by experts in the field. The event will kick off with a welcome from Prof. David G. Kirchhoffer, followed by a keynote speech on “The Concept of Vulnerability: Recent Developments in Theological Ethics” by Professor James Keenan, SJ.
Throughout the roundtable, doctoral students from SACRU member universities will share their insights and research findings on vulnerability and healthcare. The event will conclude with a thought-provoking speech by Carolina Montero Orphanopoulos, winner of the 2024 Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation Prize in “Economy and Society.”
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue and exchange ideas on this important topic. We look forward to seeing you there!
