The meeting between Polish President Andrzej Duda and Cardinal Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Monsignor Miroslaw Wachowski, Undersecretary for Relations with States, took place on a Friday morning at the Vatican. A statement from the Holy See Press Office highlighted the warm discussions that preceded the upcoming milestones in Polish history.
The discussions covered a range of topics of mutual interest, transitioning to current global issues with a specific focus on the conflict in Ukraine and the importance of security and peace in Europe.
President Duda’s visit began on Thursday with a pilgrimage to the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica, a significant moment of reflection. He and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda paid their respects at the tomb of Karol Wojtyła, leaving a touching floral tribute. The presidential delegation also includes the Polish Ambassador to the Holy See, Adam Kwiatkowski.
