Exciting news from the Vatican – Pope Francis is on the road to recovery! The Holy See Press Office has reported that the Pope is gradually improving as he recovers from bilateral pneumonia at his Vatican residence.
Matteo Bruni, the Director of the Holy See Press Office, provided an update on the Pope’s health during a briefing for journalists. He mentioned that Pope Francis’s health is stable and that there have been positive developments in his respiratory and motor functions, as well as his speech.
The Pope is slowly reducing the amount of high-flow oxygen he receives during the day, with a slight decrease at night. Recent blood tests have shown that his hematological parameters are normal.
Despite his recovery, Pope Francis remains busy with therapy, prayer, rest, and some work activities. He continues to receive updates from all Dicasteries of the Roman Curia on their activities and celebrates Mass daily in the chapel of the Casa Santa Marta.
While the Pope has not had many visitors, he has been following current events, such as the earthquake in Myanmar, and is praying for the victims. He recently watched a Lenten Sermon by Fr. Roberto Pasolini, OFMCap, and will release his Angelus address this Sunday as usual.
