Florence Korea Film Fest: A Celebration of Korean Cinema
The highly anticipated Florence Korea Film Fest is set to make its return to Florence, Italy, from March 20 to 29, 2025. Hosted at Cinema La Compagnia, this festival has been a cornerstone event for South Korean cinema since its inception in 2002. It provides audiences with a unique opportunity to explore a diverse range of mainstream and independent Korean films while engaging directly with Korean filmmakers and actors.
Building upon years of success, the festival has become a vital platform for cultural exchange between Italy and South Korea. This year’s lineup features over 70 films, including feature films, documentaries, and short films, organized into thematic sections that showcase the richness and diversity of Korean cinema.

- Orizzonti Coreani: Featuring the best contemporary Korean films of 2024.
- Independent Korea: Highlighting innovative indie productions with diverse narratives.
- Corto, Corti: Showcasing short films exploring various themes and styles.
- Webtoon: Exploring the connection between Korea’s digital comics scene and cinema.
Organized by the Taegukgi Korea Association, the festival goes beyond screenings to include special discussions, cultural programming, and masterclasses that delve into the evolving landscape of Korean cinema.
This year’s edition will feature esteemed guests such as Hwang Jung-min, Na Hong-jin, and composer Mowg, who will lead a live music event. Additionally, there will be masterclasses with webtoon artists Park Chang-ha and Jung Jae-woo, discussing the impact of digital storytelling in film.
Aside from film screenings, the festival will offer Q&A sessions, concerts, and Korean food events, providing attendees with a holistic immersion into Korean culture.
