Welcome to a unique and transformative spiritual experience this Lenten season! In a world that never seems to slow down, Lent offers us a chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters. This year, over 120 monasteries and convents across Spain are opening their doors to invite us to join them in prayer on March 27th at 7:00 p.m., thanks to the initiative led by the DeClausura Foundation.
Now in its second year, this event aims to emphasize the significance of prayer in our personal lives, in the Church, and in the world. Inspired by Pope Francis’ call to be “artisans of unity” and to journey together in synodality, these contemplative communities provide a space for silence, reflection, and communion.
From the Augustinians to the Trinitarians, including Carmelites, Poor Clares, Benedictines, and more, each monastery and convent participating in this event shines as a beacon of spiritual light. Join the cloistered monks and nuns in their churches as they lead Vespers, a sacred moment to lift our hearts to God, express gratitude for His blessings, and share our concerns and desires.
The DeClausura Foundation makes this experience accessible to all by providing a liturgical guide for those who wish to follow along from home. You can also find the complete list of the 124 participating monasteries and convents located across Spain on their website.
This initiative not only offers a chance to draw closer to God but also to explore the spiritual wealth found within contemplative communities, which serve as true schools of prayer. In a world filled with distractions, this Lenten gathering encourages us to “flee, be silent, and pray,” following the example of Jesus in the desert.
Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in a profound spiritual experience. Whether you join in person or from the comfort of your home, become part of this powerful chain of prayer that unites Spain in a shared spirit of faith and hope.
We eagerly anticipate your presence on March 27th at 7:00 p.m.! For more information, visit: declausura.org
