The Aquamour Event
The lagoon city will host many other initiatives dedicated to aquatic biomimicry. Venice becomes a model of sustainable city inspired by the intelligence of marine ecosystems. The event intertwines culture, science, and economics. There is a blue thread that connects the beginning of spring, the celebration of World Water Day, and the establishment of Venice Foundation. To promote this European “Blue Renaissance,” the SUMus Association – which has been promoting cutting-edge scientific and educational initiatives for years and has chosen Venice as a laboratory for the future – plays a key role. In the era of artificial intelligence, the real originality lies in returning to the element from which life originates, aquatic intelligence, rediscovering its colors, suggestions, and depths. Leading scientists, innovative start-ups, communicators, and artists will shed light on a new development model based on educational, agricultural, and economic regeneration. Various institutional and private partners are embracing the vision and goals of the project.
Among the guests of Aquamour, the event organized by Héléne Molinari, Barbara Albasio, and Giulio Pasolini, hosting the Aqua Film Festival this year: Gunter Pauli, the initiator of the Blue Economy and founder of Zeri (Zero Emission Research Initiative), an international network of scholars designing innovative production and consumption systems; the 2023 Water Nobel Prize winner Andrea Rinaldo, who will promote a model for optimizing water resources to improve quality of life. By imitating the marine living world, which represents a reproducible model, human societies can evolve towards greater efficiency.
The expert and award-winning biologist Marta Musso with Possea – “Pos(sea)ble/Possible” – will showcase her traveling laboratory to narrate and explore the invisible, microscopic, and essential cosmos of plankton with engaging educational experiences dedicated to marine culture. Former minister Giovanna Melandri, now president of the Human Foundation and Social Impact Agenda for Italy, will explore the connection between sustainability and social economy in the context of today’s global challenges.
