Petra Magoni, one of the most versatile, creative, and sensitive Italian singers of the last twenty years. Andrea Dindo, a nationally and internationally renowned classical pianist, as well as a brilliant orchestra conductor.
On Wednesday, March 12th at 6:00 PM, at the Auditorium Ennio Morricone (University of Rome “Tor Vergata” – Via Columbia, 1), as part of the 2024-2025 concert season curated by the Roma Sinfonietta Association, under the artistic direction of Luigi Lanzillotta, the two musicians will share the stage in the project entitled Petra sings Brecht – Tribute to Milva.
The “Panther of Goro,” famous nickname of one of the most iconic Italian singers of the last fifty years, met a legendary figure of the theater like Giorgio Strehler. From there, a happy artistic partnership was born that saw the “Redhead” (another nickname of Milva) in the interpretation of Kurt Weill’s “The Threepenny Opera,” author of the music along with Bertolt Brecht and Hanss Eisler, with a libretto by Brecht himself.
Petra sings Brecht – Tribute to Milva is a poignant journey in words and notes, aimed at delving into the deepest folds of a humanity eager for emancipation. A musical denunciation narrated and described by two artists with noble souls, highlighting the urgency of the German poet and playwright Brecht to condemn a society characterized by a total absence of moral values and marked by unprecedented violence. An enriching concert not only from an artistic point of view but also on a human level. A show focused on extremely delicate themes, addressed a hundred years ago but still incredibly relevant today.
