Discover Italy’s Hidden Treasures: Giornate FAI di Primavera 2025
Step into history as more than 750 renowned buildings and historic sites in Italy open their doors to visitors on the weekend of 22-23 March for the Spring Days initiative organized by the Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI).
From rarely-opened palaces and castles to abbeys, libraries, and gardens, explore these hidden gems in 400 towns and cities across Italy in the 33rd edition of this beloved annual event.
Some highlights of this year’s Giornate FAI di Primavera include:
In Rome, marvel at the majestic Palazzo Farnese, a High Renaissance masterpiece and the Collegio Romano, a former Jesuit college turned cultural ministry.
In Milan, stand in awe of the Libeskind Tower and the sumptuous 17th-century Palazzo Clerici; in Naples, explore the Villa Rosebery, one of the president of Italy’s official residences; and in Venice, visit the Accademia di Belle Arti founded in 1750.
Similar to Britain’s National Trust, FAI works tirelessly to preserve and promote Italy’s rich cultural heritage through education, restoration, and annual open days.
Since its inception in 1993, the spring open day initiative has welcomed over 13 million visitors.
While the tours and visits are free, participants are encouraged to make a minimum donation of €3 to support FAI’s 50-year commitment to caring for Italian cultural heritage.
