Embracing Pope Francis’ Call for Mercy and Peace
The Symphony of Mercy, spearheaded by Jan Mrowca, is a powerful response to Pope Francis’ plea for prayers for mercy and peace worldwide. Originating from the tomb of Saint Faustina in Kraków, Poland, this event is a resolute declaration in the face of current global challenges. “We will pray with unwavering faith for God’s mercy and the invaluable gift of peace,” emphasized Mrowca.
Journeying from Krakow to the Vatican and Beyond
The Symphony, a magnificent musical and spiritual spectacle crafted by Polish composer Bartłomiej Gliniak, draws inspiration from the writings of Saint Faustina Kowalska. With the participation of 200 artists from across the globe, the composition breathes life into Saint Faustina’s poetic verses, sung in 16 different languages. The selection of languages ensures that the message of mercy reaches as many hearts as possible.
The performance will take place near the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki, a sacred site visited by esteemed figures such as Saint John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis. The event will also connect live with Divine Mercy shrines on five continents: Brazil, the USA, Tanzania, the Philippines, and Australia.
Blessed by Pope Francis
Organized by the “Terra Divina” Foundation and the John Paul II Institute for Intercultural Dialogue, the Symphony of Mercy echoes Pope Francis’ call for synodality. Jan Mrowca affirms the laity’s role within the Church and expresses gratitude for the support of Polish cardinals, the Apostolic Nuncio, and Pope Francis himself. The Holy Father has blessed the event with his presence and a signed letter of approval.
Celebrating Diverse Artistry
