Pope Francis Continues Recovery at Gemelli Hospital
After being hospitalized for bilateral pneumonia, Pope Francis is on the path to recovery at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital. The Holy See Press Office provided an update on his condition on Monday morning, stating that the Pope had a quiet night and is resting comfortably.
The Pope, despite his illness, is continuing to fulfill his spiritual duties by following the Spiritual Exercises of the Roman Curia via video link from his hospital room. Led by Fr. Roberto Pasolini, OFM Cap, the Exercises are an integral part of his daily routine.
In addition to his spiritual exercises, Pope Francis is undergoing therapy and physiotherapy to aid in his recovery. He has also been cleared to start consuming solid foods as part of his prescribed diet.
While there have been slight improvements in his condition, the medical team remains cautious due to the complexity of his overall health situation. A full medical bulletin is expected to be released on Monday evening to provide further updates on his progress.
Despite the challenges, the Pope’s resilience and determination are evident as he continues to fight against his illness with the support of his medical team. Let us keep him in our thoughts and prayers as he recovers at Gemelli Hospital.
