When wildfires ravaged Los Angeles, Pope Francis sent his heartfelt support to the city. Now, as the Holy Father battles bilateral pneumonia at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, the people of Los Angeles are returning the favor by coming together in prayer for his health and recovery.

During the crisis in Los Angeles, Pope Francis reached out to Archbishop José Gomez to express his solidarity with the suffering. His words of comfort and appeals for assistance brought solace to many locals.
In response to the Pope’s illness, Archbishop Gomez and the Archdiocese initiated a call for prayers, resulting in a touching video compilation titled “To Pope Francis with Love.” This video, created by the Archdiocese’s Digital Team, features heartfelt messages from families, priests, and Catholic school members from various counties, as well as individuals from as far as Pennsylvania and the Philippines.
Inspiring Unity Through Prayer
The Archdiocese encourages all faithful individuals to participate by leaving their messages of healing and hope for Pope Francis in the video’s comment section on social media platforms. Sarah Yaklic, the Archdiocese’s Chief Digital Officer, hopes that this initiative will inspire more people to unite in prayer for the Holy Father, joining the global Catholic community in supporting him during this challenging time.
The Digital Team, under Ms. Yaklic’s leadership, has previously created videos to promote monthly prayer intentions for Pope Francis. In a recent statement, Matteo Bruni, Director of the Holy See Press Office, shared that the Pope himself expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support from the faithful worldwide.
