Welcome to the Fifth Major Jubilee Event!
This weekend, Rome will be buzzing with excitement as the fifth major Jubilee event brings together NGOs and volunteer organizations from five different continents. The event promises a weekend filled with pilgrimage, dialogues, meetings, and a special Mass in St. Peter’s Square.
Around 25,000 pilgrims from over 100 countries will gather in Rome on Saturday, March 8, and Sunday, March 9, for this unique Jubilee event dedicated to the World of Volunteering. The energy is palpable as nearly 15,000 volunteers from Italy alone, along with groups from countries like Spain, the United States, Brazil, and more, come together for this special occasion.
Embark on a Spiritual Journey
On Saturday, March 8, pilgrims will have the chance to embark on a pilgrimage to the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in Jubilee churches. This spiritual journey will be a profound experience for all participants.
Throughout the day, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, various cultural, artistic, and spiritual encounters will take place in different squares across Rome. These Dialogues with the City will allow pilgrims to engage with different organizations and learn more about their initiatives.
Engage with Volunteer Organizations
From raising awareness about volunteer work to showcasing different initiatives, the volunteer organizations will be there to engage with the public. Whether it’s activities for children, art workshops, or roundtable discussions, there will be something for everyone to participate in.
Join Cardinal Czerny for Mass
On Sunday, March 9, at 10:30 AM, Cardinal Michael Czerny, S.J., will preside over a special Mass in St. Peter’s Square. This Mass will be a moment of unity and reflection, with Cardinal Czerny reading the homily prepared by Pope Francis for the occasion.
