The United States has suspended all current military aid to Ukraine until President Donald Trump determines Kiev’s commitment to peace. European Commission President von der Leyen presents the ‘Rearm Europe’ plan worth 800 billion euros and warns, ‘Security is threatened’.

“Peace must respect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.” This is stated in the latest draft conclusions of the upcoming EU summit on Thursday. The new text also recommends “increasing pressure on Russia to weaken its ability to continue its war of aggression.”

The EU will continue to provide regular and predictable financial support to Ukraine, totaling 30.6 billion euros by 2025, with disbursements from the Ukraine instrument reaching 12.5 billion euros and 18.1 billion euros under the G7 initiative.

“I don’t believe it’s up to us to comment on decisions or announcements made on the other side of the Atlantic. What I consider extremely important is the unwavering support of the European Union for our friends in Ukraine.” This was stated by the European Commission’s Deputy Spokesperson, Stefan de Keersmaecker, during a press briefing in response to a question about the suspension of American aid to Kiev.
