Pope Francis has just unveiled the theme for the 111th World Day of Migrants and Refugees: “Migrants, Missionaries of Hope.” This exciting announcement comes as the Church gears up for a special two-day celebration of the Jubilee of Migrants and the Missionary World from October 4-5.
It’s worth noting that back in 2018, Pope Francis made the decision to move the Church’s annual observance day dedicated to migrants and refugees from January to the last Sunday of September. This shift has allowed for a more meaningful and impactful way of honoring and supporting those on the move.
