Benvenuti alla settimana di eventi culturali più attesi della stagione! Tra filosofia, scienza e fisica quantistica, uno spettacolo avvincente mette in luce il delicato rapporto uomo-macchina. In un futuro lontano, il dottor Jerome Storm, capo missione di un presidio interplanetario, si trova ad affrontare un’inaspettata sfida con Absyde, un’intelligenza artificiale di ultima generazione che sembra avere un piano segreto per prendere il controllo delle operazioni.

Ma non è tutto: il 9 marzo, Cinzia Leone ci regalerà un monologo coinvolgente intitolato “Mamma sei sempre nei miei pensieri, spostati!”, che esplora in modo divertente e toccante il tema della “mammità”. Sold-out garantito!

E per gli amanti della musica, il Teatro dell’Opera di Roma presenta le ultime repliche della “Tosca” di Puccini, un’opera imperdibile diretta da Daniel Oren. E non perdete i concerti alla Casa del Jazz, con artisti del calibro di Carlo Molinari, la Lake Jazz Orchestra e il DJP Trio.

Exciting Events in Rome: Music, Poetry, and More!

Get ready for an exciting lineup at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, as the rich program of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia continues. On March 5 at 8:30 PM, in Sala Sinopoli (and live on Rai Radio 3), the focus will be on French atmospheres with the Accademia Choir conducted by Andrea Secchi, featuring soprano Nathalie Peña-Comas and baritone Mikhaïl Timoshenko, accompanied by Arianna Di Martino on cello and Mirco Roverelli and Monaldo Braconi on piano. The program includes Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine op. 11 and Requiem op. 48, as well as Nuages, a piece by Roman composer Matteo D’Amico inspired by late 19th-century French poetry.

At Sala Santa Cecilia on March 6 at 7:30 PM (with repeats on March 7 at 8:30 PM and March 8 at 6 PM), American conductor Robert Treviño will lead the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in works by Mozart from The Magic Flute, overture and Concerto no. 23 K 488, featuring the Cecilia debut of Spanish pianist Javier Perianes. The audience will also enjoy Richard Strauss’s Domestic Symphony, a self-portrait of the hero/artist and his family intimacy.

On March 10 at 8:30 PM, also at Sala Santa Cecilia, the stage will host Grigory Sokolov, known for his distinctive tone, precise phrasing, meticulous adherence to the text, and flawless technique. The Russian pianist will perform melodies by Byrd and Brahms.

Get ready for Racconti Sonori in the greenery of Villa Pamphilj from March to June. Curated by Teatro Villa Pamphilj and Associazione Ikona, these matinées offer a unique blend of nature, renowned authors, poets, stories, and traditional music rearranged for acoustic performances. Four actors will alternate with Stefano Saletti and guest musicians for engaging tales each time. The journey spans from the struggle for freedom in the Mediterranean to Italian Folktales by Calvino and more. At the Teatro del Lido di Ostia on March 7 at 7 PM, Alchimie Sonore presents Tribute to Ennio Morricone, a homage to the late great composer. The performance features music from iconic Morricone films, beautifully played on the flute by Francesca Duca, Federico Martino, Alessandro Pace, and Davide Stanzione. L’ultimo samurai, dedicata al cineasta francese, tra i grandi maestri del noir e precursore della Nouvelle Vague. Appuntamento alla Casa del Cinema in Villa Borghese con una serie di appuntamenti dedicati ad alcuni dei più grandi maestri della Settima Arte. Prosegue Bergman e il desiderio, ciclo di proiezioni dedicato alla filmografia di Ingmar Bergman. In cartellone questa settimana (tutti in v.o.s.): Monica e il desiderio (5 marzo alle 20), Il settimo sigillo (6 marzo alle 18), Sorrisi di una notte d’estate (7 marzo alle 20), La fontana della vergine (8 marzo alle 18 nell’ambito delle iniziative per la Giornata Internazionale della Donna) e Scene da un matrimonio (9 marzo alle 18).

Per Peckinpah 100, rassegna dedicata a Sam Peckinpah a 100 anni dalla sua nascita, verranno proposti The Getaway (6 marzo alle 20), Pat Garrett e Billy the Kid (9 marzo alle 11) e Cross of Iron (10 marzo alle 20), tutti in versione originale sottotitolata in italiano. L’11 marzo alle 20, infine, proiezione a ingresso gratuito del documentario Sam Peckinpah: Portrait, un ritratto del grande regista statunitense realizzato da Umberto Berlenghini (che incontrerà il pubblico) e Michelangelo Dalto.

A marzo, inoltre, la Casa del Cinema dedica il ciclo Il film del mese al capolavoro del cinema muto The Gold Rush – La febbre dell’oro, scritto, diretto e interpretato da Charlie Chaplin 100 anni fa e che lo vede vestire i panni del suo celebre vagabondo. La prima proiezione è in calendario il 7 marzo alle ore 18.

Nell’ambito di Zavattini, il poeta del cinema italiano, infine, l’8 marzo alle 20 verrà proposto il film Siamo Donne, pellicola del 1953 in cinque episodi diretta da Roberto Rossellini, Luchino Visconti, Luigi Zampa, Gianni Franciolini e Alfredo Guarini che vede protagoniste sei attrici: Ingrid Bergman, Anna Magnani, Isa Miranda, Alida Valli, Anna Amendola ed Emma Danieli. Al Nuovo Cinema Aquila, il 5 e 6 marzo alle 21 è in cartellone No Other Land di Basel Yadra e Yuval Abraham (anche in v.o.s.); le proiezioni saranno anticipate da un dibattito alle 20.30.

Dal 6 marzo, inoltre, arriva in sala Mickey 17 (anche in v.o.s.) del regista e sceneggiatore Premio Oscar Bong Joon Ho.

Il 7 marzo dalle ore 19 appuntamento con la nuova stagione di Short Days, rassegna dedicata al cortometraggio d’autore. In occasione del primo appuntamento, dal titolo Autofiction, saranno presentate: la nuova direzione artistica che passerà da Andrea Gatopoulos e Marco Crispano (conduttori della serata) a Gaia Siria Meloni e Giulio Mezza (Cinema Mundi), e le registe che ricopriranno il ruolo di curatrici, Beatrice Baldacci, Angela Norelli e Giulia Cosentino. Verranno inoltre proiettate le opere: /ma·tri·mò·nio/ di Gaia Siria Meloni; Comunque Bene di Beatrice Baldacci; We Should All Be Futurists di Angela Norelli; Lui ed io di Giulia Cosentino.

L’8 marzo a partire dalle 18.30 la sala del Pigneto presenta Lotto al Cinema. Incontri di cinema femminista, iniziativa dedicata al cinema breve firmato da autrici. Nel corso della serata saranno proiettati alcuni cortometraggi vincitori del 5th Free Aquila: Yamar di Chiara Causa e Alema Morelli (Premio del pubblico); Ho ballato di tutto di Sarah Narducci (Menzione speciale della giuria); Il mondo salvato dalle ragazzine di Maria Luisa Usai (Menzione speciale Lotto al Cinema); Osas e le donne di Benin City di Gabriele Gravagna (Menzione speciale Lotto al Cinema). Registe e regista, al termine delle proiezioni, risponderanno alle domande del pubblico. Modera l’ideatrice dell’evento, Gaia Siria Meloni.

Sempre l’8 marzo alle 21.30 verrà proposto in anteprima La città proibita, il nuovo film di Gabriele Mainetti (in programmazione dal 13 marzo).

Ancora cortometraggi il 9 marzo alle 19 con le visioni di Valery Alexanderplatz di Silvia Maggi ed Essere Valerie di Simone Cangelosi. A seguire, la Libreria Tuba organizza un incontro con le massime rappresentanti del movimento trans in Italia: Valérie Taccarelli, protagonista di entrambe le opere, e Porpora Marcasciano, candidata al Premio Nobel per la Pace. Modera Cristina Petrucci (Tuba Bazar).

Fino al 7 marzo, la Sala Santa Rita, spazio polifunzionale dell’Assessorato alla Cultura di Roma Capitale dedicato alla promozione delle diverse forme dell’arte e della cultura, ospita la mostra Lo sguardo periferico. La grafica sociale di Coco Cerrella, a cura di ISIA Roma Design e dedicata al percorso di Coco Cerrella, designer grafico argentino noto per il suo attivismo nell’ambito dei diritti umani, dell’uguaglianza di genere e della sostenibilità ambientale. Celebre per l’utilizzo del manifesto grafico come strumento con cui documentare, denunciare, suggerire e sollecitare riflessioni su grandi temi, Cerrella approda per la prima volta a Roma, e in Italia, con una personale in cui trovano spazio 28 opere, esposte in sequenza cronologica, che coprono una produzione artistica di oltre 10 anni e sintetizzano il proprio percorso di ricerca artistica, esclusivamente dedicato a tematiche di grande attualità politica e sociale come l’emigrazione, la tolleranza, lo smaltimento dei rifiuti, il diritto al lavoro, l’impatto dei social media e la difesa dell’ambiente. La mostra è promossa dall’Assessorato alla Cultura di Roma Capitale – Dipartimento Attività̀ Culturali.

Artistic Workshops from the 16th to 19th Century

Join the guided tour of Artiste al lavoro tra XVI e XIX secolo conducted by Ilaria Miarelli Mariani (free entry for participants to both the museum and the exhibition).
