A New Era of Diplomacy: The Summit in London
UK and France Collaborate with Ukraine to Cease Hostilities with Russia
The United Kingdom and France, together with Ukraine, are working on a joint plan to “cease hostilities” with Russia. This was announced by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer today, following a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky at Downing Street. The meeting comes just hours before the start of a security summit in Lancaster House, London, attended by around fifteen leaders of NATO countries (both EU and non-EU members), including Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as well as top officials from the European Union and NATO.
The initiative was agreed upon with Zelensky on Saturday, clarified Starmer, who also mentioned discussing it with French President Emmanuel Macron and hinted at the possibility of involving “one or two other unspecified countries.”

Lega, Ursula wants to Rearm EU but Urges Work for Peace
“Ursula Von der Leyen says it’s ‘urgent to rearm Europe,’ Macron talks about ‘sending troops’ to Ukraine. For the League, however, it is urgent to work for peace. The entire West has a duty to avoid at all costs the risk of a Third World War, and the Italian government is right to try to keep it united, with President Trump, responsibly and pragmatically, pushing everyone in this direction.” This was shared by the League on Instagram.
