“As in the past few days, the night has passed calmly and the Pope is now resting.” This was announced by the Vatican Press Office in this morning’s update, February 28, on the health status of the Pontiff who has been hospitalized at the Gemelli Hospital since February 14.
In the bulletin released yesterday evening, Pope Francis’ condition was described as “improving,” alternating high-flow oxygen therapy with a ventimask. However, additional days of clinical stability are still necessary to assess the prognosis. Yesterday morning was spent in respiratory therapy and rest, while in the afternoon, the Pope prayed in the Chapel of his private apartment and engaged in work activities. According to reports, the Pope has passed the most critical phase, but the situation remains complex, hence the prognosis remains reserved.
