Welcome to the land of Mozambique, a country rich in history and resilience. In the midst of social and political challenges, Consecrated Persons shine brightly as beacons of hope and agents of reconciliation. Their unwavering dedication to God’s love is evident in their pastoral work and efforts to promote peace.
The Conference of Religious Institutes of Mozambique (CIRMO) is gearing up for the Jubilee of Consecrated Persons in October 2025, with a series of activities and events planned to commemorate this special occasion.
Sister Jenie Patricia Acosta Pereira from Maputo shares, “For us in Mozambique, this period leading up to October is a time of preparation. It is a time to renew our commitment to Christ and embrace His call to serve others selflessly.”
Embracing Hope and Spreading Peace
Recently, the CIRMO Delegation in Beira, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Beira, organized a beautiful Marian Procession followed by a Eucharistic Celebration at the Cathedral. This event marked the beginning of the journey towards the grand Jubilee Celebrations in October.
Mark your calendars for the Jubilee of Consecrated Life, set to take place from Wednesday, 8 October to Thursday, 9 October 2025.
Walking the Prophetic Paths
During a significant occasion in Mozambique, Archbishop Luis-Miguel Muñoz Cardaba, the Apostolic Nuncio, encouraged Consecrated Persons to deepen their love for Christ, embrace their prophetic calling, and actively contribute to the promotion of peace and reconciliation in the country.
Fr. José Joaquim, President of CIRMO, emphasizes the importance of nurturing hope within the Consecrated Life. He believes that only through unwavering hope can they continue to sow seeds of peace and inspire hope in society.
