The Holy See Press Office shared on Wednesday morning that “The Pope had a quiet night and is resting.” This reassuring update comes after the previous evening’s report stated that the Pope’s health remains critical but stable, with no acute respiratory episodes and stable hemodynamic parameters.
Despite his condition, Pope Francis remains resilient, even resuming work activities after receiving the Eucharist in the morning. The Tuesday evening update mentioned a scheduled CT scan to monitor the bilateral pneumonia, with a guarded prognosis.
Since his admission to the hospital on February 14th due to bronchitis, twice-daily statements have been released to keep the faithful informed. Alongside treatment for double pneumonia, the Pope is also managing mild renal insufficiency, which seems to be under control.
