Welcome to the Jubilee Year of Hope in Rome! Millions of Catholics from all corners of the globe are flocking to the eternal city to partake in this special year of grace. This jubilee year offers a unique opportunity for Catholics to earn indulgences through various acts of piety, such as embarking on pilgrimages, visiting designated churches, or performing works of mercy.
But what if you can’t make the journey to Rome? Don’t worry, you can still participate as a pilgrim right from your own home. The Vatican has made it possible for pilgrims worldwide to obtain indulgences by embarking on a “pious pilgrimage to any sacred jubilee site” and actively participating in Holy Mass.
Furthermore, believers can also earn the jubilee indulgence by visiting a designated site individually or as part of a group. While there, engage in Eucharistic adoration, spend time in meditation, and conclude with prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In the United States, bishops have designated special jubilee pilgrimage sites throughout the country, including cathedrals, basilicas, shrines, and monasteries. To help you find these sites, we have created an interactive map that showcases all the locations. Simply use the search bar to look for a specific location or highlight your home diocese to see nearby designated sites.
With just a click on the colored dots in the map legend, you can filter the locations by type and plan your pilgrimage accordingly. Whether you’re physically in Rome or participating from afar, the Jubilee Year of Hope offers a unique opportunity for spiritual growth and grace.
