Cardinal Baldassare Reina, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Rome, has called for solidarity with Pope Francis from the Italian Bishops, urging all parish and religious communities to devote an hour to silent adoration. He emphasizes the importance of communal prayer during this sensitive time.
In response to this call to prayer, the Gemelli University Hospital community and the Roman branch of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart have stepped up their support for Pope Francis. They have organized various prayer sessions to show their solidarity during his time of trial and suffering.
Starting from Monday, February 24, and throughout the Pope’s stay at Gemelli Hospital, there will be daily Eucharistic Adoration from noon to 1 p.m. at the St. John Paul II Chapel, followed by Mass. Special prayers will be offered for Pope Francis during these sessions.
Additionally, at 4:30 p.m. Rome time, a Rosary will be recited in front of the statue of St. John Paul II outside the hospital, followed by Mass at 5 p.m. in the Hospital Hall.
People from all over the world are invited to join in these moments of prayer, either physically or in spirit. For those unable to be present in Rome, a prayer has been provided:
