Welcome to our blog where we bring you the latest news and updates from around the world. Today, we focus on a heartfelt message from Pope Francis during his Angelus address, released by the Holy See Press Office while he continues to recuperate in the hospital.
In his address, the Holy Father solemnly acknowledged the approaching three-year anniversary of the War in Ukraine, set to take place on 24 February 2025. He described this event as “a painful and shameful occasion for all humanity,” emphasizing the need for solidarity with the suffering Ukrainians and all victims of armed conflicts as he fervently prayed for peace.
Despite his health condition, Pope Francis took the opportunity to extend his thoughts and prayers to the people of Ukraine, referring to them as the “martyred Ukrainian people.” He also urged for remembrance of all victims of conflicts worldwide, urging for peace in regions such as Palestine, Israel, the Middle East, Myanmar, Kivu, and Sudan.
The Holy Father expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support and prayers he has received during his hospitalization. He mentioned being deeply moved by the messages of affection, especially those from children, and thanked everyone for their comforting prayers.
As he concluded his message, Pope Francis humbly asked for continued prayers and entrusted everyone to the intercession of Mary. His words serve as a reminder of the importance of compassion, solidarity, and prayer in times of adversity.
Thank you for joining us in reflecting on this poignant message from Pope Francis. Stay tuned for more updates and inspiring stories from around the globe.
