Welcome to the recap of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Zambia’s National and Diocesan Directors Council Meeting! The event took place from 18th to 21st February 2025, under the inspiring theme of “Pilgrims of Hope.”
Hosted at the tranquil Kasisi Retreat Centre on the outskirts of Lusaka, Zambia, the PMS Directors gathered for the National Council Meeting. Led by National Director Bishop Edwin Mulandu, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Mpika, the council meeting brought together Diocesan Directors from all eleven of Zambia’s dioceses, showcasing a strong sense of unity and collaboration.
During the closing Mass on the final day, Bishop Mulandu expressed his gratitude to the Diocesan Directors for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing their essential role in the universal and Zambian Church. As Bishop Mulandu’s ten-year tenure as National Director is set to conclude in April 2025, both he and the Diocesan Directors reflected on the significant milestones achieved under his leadership.
Under the banner of “Pilgrims of Hope,” the PMS Directors engaged in fruitful discussions, exchanging experiences and insights to strengthen their commitment to missionary formation and animation in Zambia. They shared reports highlighting activities, achievements, challenges, and future plans, showcasing a deep dedication to their mission.
The meeting culminated with a renewed sense of commitment and hope among the Directors, as they look forward to enhancing the missionary spirit and work in Zambia. The spirit of unity and collaboration that permeated the gathering serves as a testament to the impactful work being done by the Pontifical Mission Societies in Zambia.
