Pope Francis Continues to Recover in Hospital
As Pope Francis continues his treatment for double pneumonia at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, the Holy See Press Office has provided an update on his condition.
According to a statement released by the Press Office, Pope Francis had a peaceful sixth night in the hospital and was able to enjoy breakfast in an armchair this morning. His clinical condition remains stable, with slight improvements in his inflammatory indices noted in recent blood tests.
After breakfast, the Pope reportedly read some newspapers and engaged in work with his closest collaborators. He also received the Eucharist before lunch, indicating that he is maintaining his spiritual practices while in hospital.
In the afternoon, Pope Francis received a visit from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, with whom he had a private meeting lasting 20 minutes. This visit highlights the Pope’s continued engagement with world leaders even during his hospitalization.
Throughout this week, the doctors have emphasized the complexity of the Pope’s clinical picture, indicating that a longer hospital stay will be necessary for his full recovery. Despite this, Pope Francis remains in good spirits and is actively participating in his treatment and daily activities.
As we continue to keep Pope Francis in our thoughts and prayers, we are grateful for the updates provided by the Holy See Press Office, which allow us to stay informed about his progress and recovery.
