Update on Pope Francis’ Health
Good news greeted the Vatican on Wednesday morning as the Holy See Press Office shared an update on Pope Francis’ health. Despite the previous announcement of double pneumonia, the Pope had a restful night, woke up, and enjoyed breakfast.
In a press release the evening before, the Holy See Press Office had informed the public about the Pope’s condition. The statement mentioned the complexities of the situation, including the Pope’s polymicrobial infection in the context of bronchiectasis and asthmatic bronchitis, which required a combination of corticosteroids and antibiotics.
Following a chest CT scan, the Vatican medical team and the “A. Gemelli” Polyclinic Foundation determined that the Pope had developed bilateral pneumonia, necessitating further pharmacological treatment. Despite these challenges, Pope Francis remained in good spirits.
Throughout the day, the Pope received the Eucharist and engaged in moments of rest, prayer, and reading. He expressed his gratitude for the support he felt and requested continued prayers from well-wishers.
As the Vatican awaits further updates on Pope Francis’ health, the faithful are encouraged to keep him in their thoughts and prayers.
