Pope Francis Battles Double Pneumonia with Good Spirits
Despite being diagnosed with double pneumonia, Pope Francis remains in good spirits, as confirmed by the Holy See Press Office in a recent press release on Tuesday evening.
The statement revealed that laboratory tests, chest X-rays, and the clinical condition of the Pope continue to present a complex picture, as he battles a polymicrobial infection in the context of bronchiectasis and asthmatic bronchitis.
Following a chest CT scan that showed the onset of bilateral pneumonia, the Pope’s treatment plan has been adjusted to include additional pharmacological therapy. Despite the challenges, Pope Francis is maintaining his positivity and has been receiving the Eucharist while resting, praying, and reading.
