Welcome to a Call for Unity: A Triduum of Prayer and Fasting for Peace in Africa
Join us in a sacred journey of hope as we come together in prayer and fasting from March 3-5, 2025, to seek God’s intervention in ending the ongoing conflicts in parts of Africa and bringing comfort to the afflicted.
Amidst the turmoil and violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), African bishops have issued a heartfelt plea for Christians across the continent to unite in prayer for peace. The recent incursion of Rwandan-backed M23 rebels into Bukavu has heightened the urgency of the situation.
In a statement released after their annual meeting in Ghana, the bishops of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) condemn the bloodshed fueled by the exploitation of Africa’s rich resources. They emphasize the power of faith and solidarity in bringing hope to those affected by conflict.
Join the Movement
Let us heed the call to prayer and fasting as a reminder of our need for divine guidance, unity, and strength. Every diocese, parish, and religious community in Africa is invited to participate in this triduum from March 3rd to 5th, 2025. Together, let us lift our voices in unity, trusting that God hears the cries of His people and fervently working towards peace.
You Are Not Alone
To all those suffering from conflict and violence in Africa, we want you to know that you are not forgotten. The Church stands in solidarity with you, offering prayers, fasting, and advocacy for justice, peace, and reconciliation.
As we journey together in this Jubilee Year, let us be beacons of hope and instruments of peace. Let us choose dialogue over division, love over hatred, and hope over despair. Together, we can be the light that leads Africa towards renewal and unity.
Join us in this sacred journey as we pray for peace and comfort in Africa. Together, we can make a difference.
