In his address, Pope Francis emphasizes the importance of art in bringing people together and spreading beauty. He calls for prayers for peace in conflict zones around the world, highlighting the role of artists and cultural figures in promoting harmony and unity.
Although the Pope is receiving medical treatment for a respiratory infection, he expresses gratitude for the care he is receiving and shares his thoughts on the Eucharistic celebration dedicated to artists. He praises art as a universal language that transcends boundaries and fosters peace.
Prayers for Peace
Pope Francis urges prayers for those affected by conflicts in various regions, including Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, the Middle East, Myanmar, Kivu, and Sudan. He acknowledges the support he has received during his illness and thanks the medical staff for their dedication and hard work.
The address concludes with a prayer to the Virgin Mary, asking for her intercession in creating a world filled with beauty and peace. Pope Francis encourages everyone to become “singers and artisans of the beauty that saves the world.”
