Pope Francis to Embark on a Cultural Journey at Rome’s Cinecittà Studios
The Vatican is set to host a special Jubilee of Artists and the World of Culture from February 15-18, as part of the ongoing Jubilee Year celebrations.
This unique event aims to honor the valuable contributions of artists to society and the Catholic Church, offering them a chance for spiritual rejuvenation and contemplation.
Highlights of the Jubilee include an audience with Pope Francis, followed by an international gathering titled “Sharing Hope – Horizons of Cultural Heritage.”
This gathering, in partnership with the Vatican Museums, will bring together museum leaders, scholars, and cultural institutions to discuss the preservation and transmission of religious and artistic heritage.
Furthermore, an exhibition featuring portraits by Yan Pei-Ming of prisoners from Rome’s Regina Coeli prison will open at the Conciliazione 5 gallery.
Pope Francis will make history by becoming the first pontiff to visit Rome’s iconic Cinecittà film studios, where he will engage with artists and cultural figures.
Additionally, the exhibition “Global Visual Poetry,” showcasing visual poetry from over 60 artists worldwide, will debut in Piazza Pio XII 3.
The Jubilee of Artists underscores the Vatican’s acknowledgment of the vital role of art in human expression, cultural enrichment, and the communication of faith.
