Pope Francis, despite battling bronchitis, delivered his general audience at the Vatican on Wednesday, urging people to pray and do penance for world peace.
In a heartfelt plea, the pope urged Catholics to do their best to end all conflicts, emphasizing the importance of peace in the world.

“Let us pray for peace, let us even do penance for peace,” the 88-year-old pontiff urged pilgrims at the Paul VI Audience Hall.
Expressing his concern for conflict-ridden countries like Ukraine, Israel, Palestine, Myanmar, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Pope Francis stressed that war is always a defeat.
“We were not born to kill but to make people grow,” the pope shared with his listeners, emphasizing the importance of nurturing peace.
Due to his ongoing battle with bronchitis, Pope Francis asked Father Pierluigi Giroli to read his catechesis on his behalf, expressing hope that he can personally deliver it next time.
