Pope Francis welcomed the Committee as pilgrims during this Jubilee Year, expressing his joy at their visit to Casa Santa Marta. He humorously recalled his initial apprehension upon hearing they were coming, jokingly referring to them as “crazy” in a previous message he had sent. However, he was reassured by Monsignor Saiz Meneses that their initiative has had a lasting impact.
In his address, the Holy Father encouraged the Committee to approach their work with a heart full of love. He urged them to live their event as a prayer of praise, emphasizing the importance of being witnesses of a love that may seem unconventional but is rooted in deep affection.
Reflecting on the event, Pope Francis expressed his hope that the echoes of their Congress would resonate within families, creating a sense of unity and love. He also commended their charitable work, particularly in providing shelter for the homeless, and encouraged them to continue promoting human dignity and caring for others.
Heartfelt Prayer and Love
The Pope concluded his remarks by praying for Jesus’ blessings upon the Committee, asking for Mary’s protection over them, and requesting their prayers as well. He emphasized the need for a loving heart to guide their actions and encouraged them to always strive for a world filled with love and respect.
