Pope Francis shared his perspective on the importance of human intelligence over artificial intelligence during a recent address to Church communications professionals.
Emphasizing the need for a human-centered approach to communication, the 88-year-old pontiff highlighted the significance of spreading the Gospel through personal connections rather than solely relying on technological advancements.
Referencing the biblical analogy of fishermen’s nets and Jesus’ call to Peter to “become a fisher of men,” Francis underscored the necessity of utilizing skills, knowledge, and resources to create networks that offer information capable of liberating individuals from despair and misinformation.
“Let us envision the possibilities of collaboration through the integration of digital tools and artificial intelligence, prioritizing networking over the idolization of technology,” the pope urged.
