Welcome to Exaudi Blog
On January 26, a momentous event took place at St. Peter’s Basilica as the Holy Father presided over the Holy Mass on the Sunday of the Word of God. During this special occasion, 40 new lectors from different parts of the world were instituted, marking the conclusion of the Jubilee of the World of Communication. In his address, the Pontiff emphasized the living nature of the Word of God, highlighting its timeless presence and transformative power through the Holy Spirit.
Homily of the Pope
The Gospel reading on that day revealed the fulfillment of a prophecy by Jesus, who was anointed with the power of the Spirit to proclaim the good news. Jesus embodies the Word of God, bringing to life the Scriptures and fulfilling divine promises out of love for humanity.
What a fitting moment for this proclamation to occur on the Sunday of the Word of God during the Jubilee. As we reflect on Luke’s Gospel, we are reminded that Jesus is the fulfillment of all Scripture. In our present time, as we engage with the Word of God, we are called to listen with wonder and openness, allowing it to touch our hearts and renew our spirits.
Jesus’ mission is characterized by five key actions: bringing good news to the poor, announcing release to the captives, giving sight to the blind, offering freedom to the oppressed, and proclaiming a year of favor from the Lord. Each action reflects Jesus’ compassion, mercy, light, freedom, and joy, inviting us to embody these qualities in our lives.
Through these actions, Jesus fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah, offering liberation, redemption, and hope to all. As we engage with the Gospel, we are reminded that God’s promise of salvation is ever-present, guiding us towards eternal life and transformation.
On this special Sunday dedicated to the Word of God, let us embrace the Scriptures with joy and enthusiasm, allowing the Spirit to work in our hearts and lives. As we reflect on the teachings of Jesus, may we be inspired to share the good news with others and transform the world through love and compassion.
Let us commit ourselves to being witnesses of Christ’s message, spreading hope and grace wherever we go. As we celebrate the ministry of lectors and the power of the Word of God, let us carry the teachings of Jesus in our hearts and share them with the world. Together, we can make a difference and bring light to those in need. Thank you for joining us in this journey of faith and transformation.
