Giovanni Allevi: A Musical Journey of Renaissance
Renowned worldwide as a composer, orchestra conductor, writer, and philosopher of the piano, Giovanni Allevi is set to grace the stage in Rome in the summer of 2025. After a prolonged absence due to a serious illness, he has returned to performing with a solo piano international tour that has already sold out until spring 2025, with summer dates soon to be celebrated.
Maestro Allevi, accompanied by the Italian Symphonic Orchestra, will be performing at the Terme di Caracalla on June 20th as part of ‘Giovanni Allevi – Special Events – Summer MMXXV’.
This concert, organized by Vincenzo Berti and Gianluca Bonanno for Ventidieci and produced by Bizart, will be an opportunity to immerse oneself in deep and universal emotions, guided by the Maestro’s music. For this occasion, he will present the world premiere of “Concerto MM22 for Cello and Orchestra”, a piece composed during his hospitalization. Inspired by a surprisingly beautiful melody derived from the transformation of the word Myeloma into musical notes using a mathematical method akin to Bach’s, the piece unfolds into a poignant, anguished, rarefied, luminous, and moving inner journey.
In Rome, and subsequently in Taormina, Venice, and Florence, Giovanni Allevi will explore a unique and engaging theme, inviting the audience to reflect and be carried away by the sounds of the piano and orchestra. His compositions will be performed alongside the Italian Symphonic Orchestra for the first time in his career. Moreover, Allevi will introduce an innovative use of video technology and lighting effects to transform the iconic Italian venues into dreamlike and surreal settings. Immersive projections, synchronized light shows, and multimedia environments will merge music and visual arts into a powerful, singular experience.
