The 42-km Acea Run Rome the Marathon will kick off and conclude at the historic Circus Maximus, offering a scenic route that includes iconic landmarks such as the Roman Forum, Castel S. Angelo, and the Spanish Steps.
This year, organizers are aiming to reach the maximum capacity of 30,000 runners, with registrations filling up fast. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this incredible event!
In addition to the main marathon, participants can also join the non-competitive “Stracittadina” 5-km fun run and the charity Run4Rome relay race, adding more excitement to the day’s festivities.
Mark your calendars and start training – the 2024 Rome marathon saw two Kenyan athletes, Asbel Rutto and Ivyne Lagat, clinching victory with impressive times. With over 19,000 participants in the main race and a record number of foreign runners, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Remember, the time limit to complete the marathon is six and a half hours, so pace yourself and enjoy the journey. Refreshments and support stations will be available along the course to keep you energized and motivated.
As the marathon leads to road closures and traffic restrictions in Rome, stay tuned for updates on the event details and plan your travel accordingly.
