Experience the Thrill: Giro d’Italia Finale in Rome
Get ready for the excitement as the final stage of the 108th edition of the Giro d’Italia zooms into Rome on 1 June 2025. This prestigious cycling event, covering 3,413 kilometers across 21 stages, kicks off in Durres, Albania on 9 May, culminating in the eternal city.
The grand finale of the 2025 route will start in Rome’s EUR district, sweep through the scenic coast of Ostia, and wind its way into the heart of the city. The Rome circuit, spanning 141 km and repeated eight times, will showcase iconic landmarks and culminate against the backdrop of the majestic Colosseum.
Rome’s mayor, Roberto Gualtieri, announced at the recent presentation of the Giro d’Italia that the city circuit will pass through new Jubilee sites, including the pedestrianized Piazza Pia near the Vatican.
This return of the Giro d’Italia to Rome in 2025 has sparked calls for the Italian capital to host the race’s final stage annually, with tourism councillor Alessandro Onorato highlighting the event’s significant economic impact of up to €200 million.

Onorato emphasized the promotional opportunities for Rome tourism through the Giro d’Italia, with captivating images broadcast globally to over 700 million viewers in 200 countries.
This marks the seventh time the Giro d’Italia culminates in Rome, with past editions in 1911, 1950, 2009, 2018, 2023, and 2024. The 2024 race, won by Slovenian champion Tadej Pogačar, was a thrilling event that set the stage for the upcoming 2025 edition.
And for the ladies, the 2025 Giro d’Italia Women event will feature eight stages from 6-13 July, starting in Bergamo and concluding in Imola.
