Pope Francis set the stage for the first Saturday Jubilee audience of 2025 with an inspiring message of embracing hope as a divine strength that paves the way for new beginnings, drawing wisdom from the example of St. John the Baptist.
Addressing pilgrims gathered in the Vatican’s audience hall on Jan. 11, the pontiff highlighted the significance of hope as more than just a personal trait, but as a theological virtue that signifies a “strength to be sought from God.”
“Many of you are here in Rome as ‘pilgrims of hope,'” Pope Francis remarked, emphasizing the Jubilee as a fresh start, an opportunity for all to embark on a new journey anchored in faith. “With the Jubilee, we embark on a new life, a new chapter.”
