Welcome to a new cycle of meetings in the Jubilee 2025, inaugurated by Pope Francis with a focus on inspiring hope and spiritual renewal. In his first Jubilee Audience on January 11 in the Paul VI Hall, the Pontiff encouraged the faithful to embrace a new beginning in their lives, serving, loving, and rediscovering the greatness of smallness.
A key word: start over
In his catechesis, Pope Francis emphasized the importance of “starting over” as a way to renew adherence to Christ and embark on the path of hope. The Holy Father expressed that we become pilgrims seeking a gift, restarting our journey of life.
These Saturday audiences, held every 15 days, complement the traditional Wednesday General Audiences and provide a special space for pilgrims to engage with the spirituality of the Jubilee.
Saint John the Baptist: the model of hope
Reflecting on the upcoming feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Pope Francis highlighted Saint John the Baptist as a great prophet of hope. He urged the faithful to follow the example of the Baptist in seeking a new beginning and embracing spiritual renewal symbolized by crossing the Jordan River and passing through the Holy Door.
The Pope’s call to “start over” resonated, inviting all present to embrace hope and a desire for change, opening themselves to the Kingdom of God for new greatness.
Commitment to the little ones
Pope Francis emphasized the importance of returning to the roots of Christian love by recognizing our smallness, serving others, and listening to the voice of the most vulnerable. He highlighted the hope found in God’s originality shining through Jesus for the Earth and all humanity.
Pope Francis stressed that the call to start over is not just a personal act but a communal commitment to building a more fraternal and just world, following the example of Christ.
Upcoming jubilee meetings
The Prefecture of the Papal Household has organized a calendar of meetings that will continue throughout the year. The gatherings will be held in the Paul VI Hall or St. Peter’s Square, with free admission. Mark your calendars for the scheduled dates and join in the journey of hope and renewal.
This Jubilee presents a unique chance for people worldwide to come together in hope and renewal, answering Pope Francis’ call to begin again by serving, loving, and building a future full of hope.
