The excitement is building as the March for Life Education and Defense Fund has just announced its speaker lineup for the 2025 March for Life event on Friday, Jan. 24. This year’s speakers include distinguished guests such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Rep. Chris Smith from New Jersey, and Live Action President Lila Rose. Additionally, Toledo Bishop Daniel Thomas, the chair of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, will also be speaking at the event.
“We are thrilled to have these inspiring pro-life leaders join us at the 52nd March for Life,” said Jeanne Mancini, the president of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, in a statement released on Jan. 9.
For over five decades, the March for Life has been a powerful voice advocating for the protection of women and the unborn. This year’s theme, ‘Life: Why We March,’ emphasizes the intrinsic human dignity of every life from its very beginning,” Mancini added.
The rally is scheduled to commence at noon, followed by the march at 1 p.m.
Gov. DeSantis, a Catholic, made headlines in April 2023 when he signed a bill into law that prohibits abortion in Florida once a fetal heartbeat is detected, typically around six weeks into pregnancy. The state also had a referendum in 2024 to enshrine a legal right to abortion in the state constitution, but the measure fell short of the required 60% threshold for passage.
