Welcome to the Jubilee 2025! The month of January kicked off with the opening of the Holy Door at Santa Maria Maggiore. Here’s a glimpse of the events scheduled for this month, including various spiritual pilgrimages by dioceses and groups, as well as specific jubilees.

The Jubilee 2025 offers a rich calendar of events, including major gatherings and specific jubilees for dioceses and groups. In January, between the 24th and 26th, we have the Jubilee of the World of Communication and Young professional communicators. The city has already welcomed over half a million pilgrims, who have crossed the Holy Door of St. Peter’s just two weeks after its opening by Pope Francis on December 24, 2024.
During the Holy Year, the faithful can pass through the Doors of the four papal basilicas – St. John Lateran, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and Santa Maria Maggiore, in addition to the Vatican – and take part in jubilee walks. There are several pilgrimages available, including one dedicated to the holy patronesses and doctors of Europe, visiting the churches dedicated to them. To receive plenary indulgence, the forgiveness of sins through true repentance, pilgrims can participate in the Eucharist, confess their sins, and perform acts of charity.

In January, the Jubilee 2025 began with the opening of the Holy Door at Santa Maria Maggiore on the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.
