Step into a world of wonder at the exhibition “100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican,” featuring a stunning collection of 125 nativity scenes from 20 countries. Among them are three exquisite pieces from Poland—Radom, Sierpc, and Wadowice. The exhibition was inaugurated on Sunday, December 8, and is now open for visitors to explore in the left wing of Bernini’s colonnade in St. Peter’s Square.
The Polish nativity scenes showcased at the event were meticulously crafted by the Jacek Malczewski Museum in Radom, the Museum of the Mazovian Countryside in Sierpc, and the municipality of Wadowice.
Last year’s exhibition drew over 290,000 visitors, and this year promises to surpass that number. As a special highlight, Pope Francis will inaugurate the 2025 Jubilee Year on December 24, attracting even more pilgrims to Rome.
Aside from the Polish masterpieces, this year’s exhibition showcases nativity scenes from various European countries and beyond, including Mali, Taiwan, Paraguay, the Philippines, the United States, and Costa Rica.
