Recent reports indicate that 18 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the central and northern Gaza Strip on Friday.
The airstrikes targeted an apartment in a high-rise building in central Gaza, resulting in the death of eight people and injuring over a dozen others, some critically, according to Al-Awda Hospital.
This ongoing aerial bombardment campaign by the Israeli Air Force has inflicted severe damage and casualties in Gaza.
Recent Attacks
This week has seen a surge in violence, with numerous casualties reported in Israeli bombings.
On Thursday, at least 20 Palestinians lost their lives in airstrikes targeting schools and residential areas in eastern Gaza City.
The day before, 16 Palestinians were killed in bombings in northern Gaza, with 10 more casualties in an attack on the Al-Najjar family’s house in Jabalia.
Additional reports indicate more deaths from bombings in Gaza City’s eastern neighborhoods.
Civilian Infrastructure Destroyed
Israeli airstrikes have caused extensive damage to Palestinian refugee camps, schools, hospitals, mosques, churches, and other civilian infrastructure over the past year.
UNRWA has described the situation in Gaza as the worst bombing of civilians since World War II, with UNICEF reporting over 14,500 children killed in the conflict.
